'The finest house on the hill'

Lees Associates’ prime residential experience was harnessed for this exclusive and multi-award-winning new 15,000 sqft residential development in Surrey. The house occupies the top plot on the hill, on the site of an iron age fort, taking advantage of stunning views south across Surrey. As architect and lead consultant, Lees Associates successfully secured scheduled monument consent, planning consent and the consent of the estate’s residents’ association, before completing the detailed design to our founding partner, John Lees’ original concept.

Lees Associates were appointed to undertake the detailed design and executive architectural role for the development of Camp End Manor. Throughout the process they worked tirelessly to ensure the correct standard of finish was achieved and effectively managed the coordination of the various specialist consultants involved.

It was very important that the detail and execution of the design was handled correctly. Lees Associates managed this is an efficient and expert manner. The end result is better than I had hoped for. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lees Associates and their team to anybody.

pioneering and multi award-winning

Arranged around a grand elliptical central staircase, the house adopts a rational, classically-inspired plan with Regency proportions and detailing. The top-lit stair is a pioneering post-tensioned solid stone structure: remarkably slender, it provides an elegant focus to the heart of the house.

The scheme includes substantial basement accommodation that maximises the floor area without exceeding the maximum gross external area, which is strictly regulated by the residents’ association.

The house completed in 2016 and won the Best Residential Property £20 million + at The International Design Awards 2017 and a Gold award for Best Luxury Home at the WhatHouse? Awards 2017. Watch the movie here.
